Wrap

Wraps may be made of linen, often called "Irish linen", leather, nylon or simply a urethane coating covering the original wood of the stick. Some manufacturers add wax or a coating atop the wrap to preserve its look. The wrap shields the player from dropping their cue if their hands perspire excessively.
