I’ve been seeing and receiving high praise for Nancy Cote’s innovative pool products and her Finger Slides are certainly a way to get my students toward a perfect pool stance:
“...I was pretty skeptical from the look of the picture of the “unglove” finger slides. I thought of it as being thin like a glove, and I did not think it would stay on… but if you are a glove wearer, you really ought to try one of these out.”
“They feel really smooth! ...No more rubbing ...my break shot is deadly because of it... my immobile bridge is now part of my perfect billiards stance.I caught up with Nancy a.k.a. “The Cue-Z Lady” recently for an interview, having also enjoyed her products and used them with my students.
Matt “Quick Draw” Sherman @ Billiards.About.com: Why FingerSlides/UnGloves?
I invented this product for Moe G., a member on our APA team, "The Cue-Z's". [Editor’s note: See our related Cue-Z story elsewhere.] The glove he was using wasn't working, his hands sweating through the glove. He had cut the fingertips off to get a better "feel of the table". This resulted in the fingers coming apart! In fact he still owns the first set I ever made.
What was your journey in finding the correct materials for your Finger Slides and Cue-Z’s? Did you work in clothing or fashion first?
I have sewn for years and used to make all my own clothes. I attribute this skill to my paternal grandmother, who taught me early in life. Ironically enough the first fabric I chose, worked. Call it luck or maybe just plain fate. My first attempt was a three-piece version. The problem with its design was the open space between the thumb and index finger. I developed the current design to address that problem.
