BCA Gears Up for Expo and Marketing
Pocket Billiards is certainly taking its cue from other games (pun intended) that a hot trade show is good for all a sport’s enthusiasts. The latest edition of the show will be held at the fabulous Sands Expo Center, which already hosts 10 of the top 50 trade shows nationwide. A mind-boggling array of billiard tables, cues, cases, felts and cloth, balls, chalk, etc. will be displayed and demonstrated alongside helps for pool leagues, lighting, pool training aids, publications, room décor, poker and game tables and much more.
The BCA is also soon to relocate its national office to Denver, Colorado, citing the convenience of Denver International Airport for meetings of BCA leadership.
BCA has long been the dean governing pool and represents probably the clearest exposition of sound rules to guide pool leagues and tournaments—but the BCA has also lagged behind in technology and marketing and promoting the sport for years. It is hoped that Meeting Expectations will help enable the BCA to become a better clearinghouse for consumer opinions on billiards-related issues, industry trends and consumer marketing programs.

Mattie, you will be a HUGE asset to About.com! YES, trade shows are VITAL for increasing the interest in Billiards. I was the videographer for the SuperShow for a number of years which was the largest sports marketing show on the planet. I really don’t remember to many billiards booths. About time - pun intended!
Hi Matt, I passed through Denver, and I have a feeling that the airport bit is just an excuse. The beauty of the place might be the real drawcard. Catch you in cyberspace. JJ from Z!
