From the article: Action, Live From The Gainesville Pool Open
What's the best experience you've ever had at a poolroom? I was in seventh heaven this weekend visiting with my friend Tommy Kennedy tableside at the Gainesville stop on the Pechauer SE Open Tour. See the related story, Pechauer SE Open Tour.
What's the most fun you've ever had at a billiards tournament?

Female defeats Willie Mosconi
- My aunt, Lisa Cochran, defeated Willie Mosconi. Lisa was one of the first women of billiards. She had to play the men because there wasn't a female league. She thought very highly of him, said he was a true gentleman of the game.

Would rate as a perfect dream room
- Fusco's the Spot features 34 pool tables it has blacklight pool and ping pong. they host events and tournaments mainly 9-Ball and 1-Pocket along with "last ball." The room is clean, the tables have new cloth, there's plenty of room for players and spectators. This is one of the nicest poolrooms on the East Coast, located in Trevose, PA.

Movie casting - Willie M
- Stephen Baldwin?! Perhaps William, but NOT Stephen - really!! I do agree with poster fayskelley, though - Leonardo di Caprio OR Johnny Depp - but wouldn't Tom Cruise be a real casting coup, considering his "Color Of Money" leading role ('his hair is perfect')? BTW, the original poster left Candace (Candy) out of the Mosconi family - she is 2 yrs younger than Wm., Jr., cute as a button w/ a charming personality, and could be done justice only if portrayed by the likes of Lauren Graham. My vote for "MN Fats" goes to James Gandolfini, who would make that scoundrel even more likeable than Ralph Wanderone ever could with his fantasy portrayal of life imitating art after Jackie Gleason's character in "The Hustler". As an afterthought, maybe the producers could cast Wm. Mosconi, Jr. as "Willie", the stakesholder, in the poolroom scenes (like his father in "The Hustler"), which would be a casting move typical of Oliver Stone were he the director. However, we do want a factual film, though...

Losing made me better
- I lost and gambled my rent money and vowed never to chase the green when down big again. It has really helped my game and overall outlook when gambling. If you don't have extra money don't gamble. If you go into a match knowing that you NEED TO WIN, YOU HAVE ALREADY LOST! I LOST SO MUCH THAT I WROTE A CHECK TO MY OPPONENT FOR HIM TO CASH THE NEXT DAY. We matched up a year later and I got all my money back and some!!!!!! Gamble with caution and good shooting!

Players who care make it better
- I used to play up at Amsterdam in NYC, one of the halls on the site. Billie Billings was a house player and used to pick up friendly games with the players there. (# 14 in the article) She was ranked #4 woman player then. What a gas! The owners let her practice for free for keeping the players happy. Best room in the City then.

Great Chalk!
- I'm sick of the garbage that passes for chalk in most pool rooms. I have to bring my own to get a decent tip on my stick. Why are room owners so cheap? A great pool hall has great chalk.
