Wobble Spot

By Matthew Sherman, About.com

Definition: Dents on the table slate beneath the felt can over time add to wobble spots, aptly named as a ball rolling across them will jiggle just off its path, possibly missing the intended target. The more slowly a rolling ball travels over a wobble spot, the more it will deviate offline.
Examples:
The ball ambled slowly toward the side pocket before finding a wobble spot and jostling off the point of the pocket instead.
