Take one giant step for a pool man

Step with the foot opposite the cueing hand

Your next action is to bring the foot opposite your shooting hand, in this case my left foot as I am shooting pool right handed, one step comfortably forward.

There is no need to awkwardly lean, lunge or jab forward in any way. Lurching ahead and not stepping a full pace are two extreme errors beginners make.

My right foot has naturally turned of its own accord since its squared position in the previous photo. It flares out to the right slightly at the toes so I can maintain a comfortable balance near the pool table.
