I think of my one step forward in the pool stance as locking the weight of my body into place toward the object ball. My one step forward with the foot opposite my shooting arm, my left foot, is used to set the balance of my body accurately in pool and billiards.
In other words, as you begin to settle into your pool stance, make every effort to get to the perfect billiards stance by purposing each and every body component into aiming at the chosen target.
