1. Has the present owner shoved a few shims such as playing cards beneath a leg or two to prop an off-level slate's surface?
2. Rolling a few balls slowly around the table and into pockets, can you note any wobble spots along the felt?
3. Is the floor beneath the table off level? You might be examining a perfectly level table resting on a sagging floor or pressed carpet.
