The cuestick has followed the motion of the stroke into the air fully. Remember to hit down onto the ball to pinch it against the felt and slate to give the cue ball a ride. After, your cue ball and stick both will obey Newton's third law of physics and will reach into the air.

With a few minutes' practice even a beginner can jump a cue ball. Start by aiming into a nearby corner pocket for practice.
