The cuestick is still slipping forward through my cupped right hand. My shooting arm is thus lengthening away from the cue ball, from the forearm down, in an effort to generate a bit more leverage and control on the shot.

Many players who use this "slip stroke" method do so unconsciously. Watch the players around you next time you visit your local poolroom.
