The force follow shot has thrilled many players. Beginners love this one at my pool clinics. And, it's so easy to shoot!

This stop action photo shows me rearing back to hit a force follow shot, a.k.a. a "British follow" shot. The stroke is most commonly seen among British snooker players, who rely on techniques requiring little or no english imparted to the cue ball.

The name "force follow" is apt as the cue ball will be forced hard at the object ball. After impact, it will follow along quite slowly behind the shot. Line up the white ball with an object ball as shown, so that the cue ball will impact the colored ball full in its face (think of aiming the two balls together like a sun and moon to create an eclipse).
