To draw the ball accurately is less of a challenge if you take these fast 3 tips from your friendly neighborhood Pool & Billiards Guide:
1. Leave your body down at the table where it belongs. I hold a cue stick just above the heads of my students during my stroke clinics. They risk braining themselves rather than jerking upward or sideways to watch the shot. Stay down and let the shooting arm only do its thing, and your draw and other strokes will begin to perfect their style.
2. Stroke lower and softer than you now think is possible or permissible. Soft and low on the cue ball when it is nearby the object ball will provide lots of zippy, delicious backspin action.
3. Chalk well, Mr. Bond. The telltale black spot on the stick's tip where you avoided chalking up is the same spot where the draw stroke is destroyed. Chalk well, chalk often, indeed, chalk every time.
Take these three moves to play pool this week and watch as your cue ball moves backwards from impact like magic.
