Drum roll, please! The top ten tips on breaking in pool and billiards--for when you want an open break to scatter the balls to the winds.

It was tough to pursue placing these tips in some type of top ten order—they are all valid and help my students to smash their breaks with skill.

Pool & Billiards Break Tip #10: Plan the Break

The pros have stopped thinking about the break stroke as "lucky" long ago. Bear down mentally and plan the path of the cue ball, predict the paths of key balls, and plan to sink at least one ball on any offense-directed open break.
