Pool counter in antique brass

Dials inset at a table’s foot rail are for keeping score (as point count) during Straight Pool and Rotation or to keep count of games won during a match. The numerical markers come outlined in brass, chrome or other accent material.

A string hung between two walls of a poolroom with sliding markers along its length is the older, more traditional type of “counter”.
