Bank Shot

By Matthew Sherman, About.com

Definition: Any shot that brings a rail (cushion) into play, though most players reserve the term for shots where an object ball rather than the cue ball is targeted to hit a rail.
Also Known As: Bank
Examples: The cue ball struck the 13-ball and sent it completely around the table on a four-rail bank shot.
