This movie has long been in the "billiards rack", the works if you will, and the rumor mill runs high now that the lovely and talented Jennifer Barretta has been added to the cast.

What seems authentic, however, is that reputable pool pros are attached in development (or at least will agree to appear on camera once the money is there to fund production).

Our Earlier Story On 9-Ball: The Movie

Say, with only a rumored script, what likely plot threads can you imagine for this exciting production, given the name, “9-Ball: The Movie”? For example, we had lots of fun developing several scenarios with our team of highly paid screenwriters and film consultants:

1. A first of its kind, this lush production spares no expense as the film’s soundtrack composer, cinematographer and director bring us 120 glorious minutes of a 2 1/4" pool ball with a pleasant yellow stripe encircling its equator.

2. Degenerate gamblers and hustlers argue for 90 minutes over whether they should bet on 8-Ball, One Pocket… or their penultimate challenge, a winner-take-all single rack of 9-Ball. (The actual game is not played until the movie sequel.)

3. Stephen King’s adaptation of his own novel thriller, “9-Ball”, the ninth volume of his epic “Dark Tower” series, in which the gunslinger, Roland Deschain, must travel the wilds of The Bronx, desperate to save the last piece of Master-brand chalk on earth. Without this chalk applied, upon “the final miscue in the poolroom at the end of all universes,” Katie Couric will be unable to host the CBS evening news, and Eastern Time will stop forever at 6:30 PM on Wednesday.

4. U.S. President and Mrs. Pat Buchanan dance January 20 away in 2012 at eight glamorous inaugural balls. But a shockingly liberal surprise awaits the first couple at the “9-Ball”.

Send in your best ideas for the plot of “9-Ball: The Movie” and we’ll post them here at About.com, and smash a billiards rack apart in your honor.
