Open Break

Definition: Game break when any ball pocketed, except the cue ball, allows the shooter’s turn to continue. Determining whether to hit an open break forcefully or more gently is a vital strategy, after considering the likelihood of you and your opponent to win the game straight from the break.
Examples:
I’ve smashed an open break and sent six balls into the pockets in 9-ball.
