Think about that last sentence for a moment. Then visualize that last sentence for a moment. You may have just moved from pool doubts to correct imaging.
Willie Mosconi spoke of his hi-run of 526 balls at Straight Pool, still an official pool record. He was not consciously thinking of stance or of stroke.
Willie was 1) looking at the balls, 2) seeing which pockets they should enter, and 3) sending them to the bottoms of the pockets and that was the full extent of his game plan.
The record was set as Willie enjoyed the imaged picture show for three hours, with neither left brain instructions or right brain burning images of scratches and failure settling in. He "stopped thinking" and sent the cue ball and objects where they should go. If you've done this for two or three strokes, let along 500, you know how pleasurable the sensations are.
You can emulate Willie's concentration in that you can take a picture then trust the shooting arm to paint the canvas you imagined. Any improvement, any few minutes in "the zone" of high achievement, and you've learned the best pool skill and one of the greatest thrills of the sport.
Try it, after that write in if you wish and let's discuss the results.
