In Rotation, object balls are scored as their denominations. The 8-ball is worth 8 points, the 15-ball, 15 points, and likewise for the rest of the table. Mr. & Mrs. sets the weaker player's handicap to shoot any ball they like, while the stronger player must shoot at the balls in sequential order, similar to the play of Nine Ball. The first player to score 60 or more points (out of 120 total possible) wins.
The quaint name for this game stems from a time when women rarely frequented poolrooms, leaving the mostly bachelor patrons of the pool halls of the land to better their skills at Rotation pool. Be warned that you probably overestimate your skill if you are ready to tackle Mister's role in this exciting game. The weaker player can luck or skill a few balls in and quickly run up the points. Can you determine the smallest number of balls needed to win or the odds of a 60-60 tie being scored?
