Now, you are ready to make this "challenging" pool trick shot. It may take a slight bit of coordination and one or two tries to get the 8-ball to rest upon the other two atop the rail, especially if the rail is in poor condition. Move the three balls as you like--the trick will work from anywhere.

Perhaps you've let your friends (suckers) try to hit the 8-ball on their own (with some ridiculous jump stroke of advanced difficulty) a few times. Now you again pledge you will make the shot on the first try. You will hit the 8-ball without the cue ball ever touching the 5 or the 12.

When you are set, shoot the white cue ball at the spot below the 8-ball. Be sure to roll the white ball slowly enough toward the target to perform the secret of the trick...
