By "ghost sighting", I am referring to using the ghost ball to aim at your choice of pool targets. Whether you use the ghost ball method or go edge-to-edge to aim as I do and most of the pros, it is vital that you keep your eyes off the runway.
The concept of running one's eyes along the length of cloth[/link"> between cue ball and object ball, in an attempt to try to sight the cue ball more accurately to hit the ghost ball, is lost effort. The pros focus on the object ball only, everything else is left to the side.
Why this intense focus? For one thing, when looking at blue, green or crazy-color felt, vision tends to blur and confuse the shooter--the eyes have nothing distinct to set their focus upon.
Just look at the object ball, perhaps with a glance down to the cue ball if you want to confirm the english of choice. And you'll do better with those "ghost sightings", too!
