Guide Review - Cue Tip Accessory
The Cue-Z protects your stick from the chalk that over time "blues" the stick, especially the white composite ferrule section that underlies the cue tip. Most stick ferrules are soft enough to allow light scratches to be incurred from chalk cubes or incidental contact with the rails or other table parts. Soon these scratches turn blue from chalk embedded in the ferrule. The Cue-Z guards against this stray chalk and the damage caused from jostling your cue within its carrying case.
The Cue-Z comes packaged in your choice of nearly 20 custom colors and designs with simple instructions included. Highlighted for importance is the need to store your cue in case tip side up or the Cue-Z will dislodge from the tip and remain stuck inside the bottom of your carrying case. If your case has tapering receptacles for your cue shafts, a Cue-Z lost in this fashion may never be recovered again without reach extender special equipment.
The Cue-Z is well constructed of cloth sections sewn tightly closed together. It is solid enough to resist the wear and tear a cue receives inside its case, and is cleaned easily with water and perhaps a bit of soap. Certainly, dry the Cue-Z again before placing it on your cuestick.
Designer Cote has seen some success with this product, and has included a line of custom cue glove sections at her website, providing a firm grip on the cue for players without the cumbersome need to wear a full glove, using the same cloth technology she created for the Cue-Z.
