Get You Pool Light Hung Or Hang In Shadow

Hi Matt, quick question: is there a standard distance a billiard light should be above the table? The consensus seems to be 32 inches, but the guy who built my table said 28-30 inches.

I'm 5' 7", and my wife is 5'-3", so I'd think we should aim for 30 to 32 inches. Thank you.

Great question. I think you are right on in terms of wanting some headroom below the light fixtures, without seeing glare on the sides of the table from exposed bulbs.

But unless the light's chain (the fixture height) can be adjusted by you easily without a professional being paid to do so, it's totally worth it to stand atop ladders pre-installation with flashlights.
