Who Should Play Willie Mosconi, The Biggest Role In Pool?Speaking of pool movies, an enduring and glamorous film could be made, a tremendous biopic, of Willie Mosconi's life and career, the good and bad, the harsh and the kind.
If you don't know Willie Mosconi's biography and vitals, Mosconi's career still casts a shadow over today's world of pool. This genius of billiards won multiple world titles in pool and in Three Cushion Billiards, exhibiting a phenomenal variety of cue skills, while battling through the Great Depression and the highs and lows the game experienced from popular pastime to near-forgotten sport.
From the high to the low the end of the show, many small and big incidents refined Mosconi's will to win and his often harsh and uncompromising character. Recall his grueling 8-hour-a-day-7-days-a-week-for-30-years practice schedule, his amazing trick shot show, his boy wonder days as an 11-year-old world contender against Ralph Greenleaf.
Also recall his battles against poverty and the decline of the game, and with his family as months on the road and a bitter spirit isolated him from family and friends.

“Id be perfect for this movie!! Im so facinated by Willie Mosconi and have been the last 8 years that i have been playing pocket billiards! He’s my Idol! Id love to play the part of Willie! ALthough, ive actually thought about this before and i look more like Ralph Greenleaf! ha ha.. but still.. Im pretty sure i could pull off how Willie used to shoot.. fast and continuous movement with consistency. I actually find that when i shoot and move around the table fast like Mosconi did that i actually make more shots and play better position!!
