A Smile, A Joke, A Great Pool Shooter
Player Profile: Tommy KennedyA man walks into a doctor’s office and says, “Help me! I think I am shrinking.”
The doctor answers him, “You’re going to have to be a little patient…”
So went the joke as told to my spouse and kids by Tommy “The Juggler” Kennedy by way of hello last night at Art of Billiards. Tommy greeted many of the patrons by name with a handshake and hug and kept the crowd assembled entertained for three hours with challenge Nine Ball matches and an exhibition of trick shots including one of my favorites, the power of 9, and an exhibition of positioning shots with cue ball and one or two object balls.
And who could forget his pool juggling routine, taking nine to eleven pool balls at once bouncing off the cushions guided by his hands. Fantastic!
Tommy was very chummy despite freshly disembarking to the pool hall from a 24-hour road trip between Indiana and Florida, with only a few nap breaks along the way. He singled the kids out to help perform some trick shots using his costly Southwest cue stick, showed them a “mentalist” trick and some math fun after the exhibition, and generally had everyone in the place smiling and laughing. Thanks, Tommy. His biography at this site is worth a read, also. Enjoy!
