Billiards Meets Politics

Photo (c) cache.kotaku.com On a recent cold, windy day, in a banquet hall attached to a pool hall, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, spoke "passionately" about subjects ranging from predatory lending to universal health care and even federal assistance for those with autism (with an estimated 1 in 125 children now struck by this syndrome).

Edwards, spouse, Elizabeth, spoke briefly of her recent health battles and then left, reportedly for an on air interview with Oprah Winfrey.

One keen observer wrote, "After the senator's departure I walked past the door to the billiards parlor, knowing that in a few hours some guys with collapsible pool cues would be inside, making statements of their own, studying the angles…"
